Bespoke Wood Flooring

Made-to-Order Flooring

We design and deliver bespoke, made-to-order wood flooring for private residences where standard flooring formats are not appropriate.

Within this practice, bespoke refers to wood flooring that is developed in direct response to both the building itself and the requirements of the client. Format, construction, finish, texture, grading, and surface treatment are selected and resolved as part of a single specification, rather than chosen from a fixed range.

Proportions, structure, subfloor conditions, light, and intended use are considered alongside aesthetic preferences. Specification, manufacture, and installation are treated as a unified process rather than a product selection.

This service is not intended for general flooring replacement. It is suited to projects where flooring is treated as an architectural element and requires technical resolution beyond standard systems.

What bespoke means in practice

Bespoke wood flooring is appropriate where one or more of the following apply:

  • Period, listed, or conservation properties requiring sympathetic solutions

  • Projects where standard plank or parquet systems are insufficient

  • Subfloor conditions that demand engineered or site-specific approaches

  • Long-term performance, repairability, and continuity are priorities

Bespoke work allows for considered choice of finish, texture, grading, and surface character, resolved in context with the building rather than selected in isolation.

Not every property benefits from a bespoke approach. Where it is not appropriate, this is advised early.

How the work is approached

Each bespoke commission follows a controlled and sequential process:

Technical survey

Assessment of structure, moisture conditions, subfloor composition, and physical constraints.

Specification development

Format, construction method, fixing approach, surface texture, finish, and detailing are resolved together.

Made-to-order manufacture

Flooring is produced specifically to the agreed specification rather than drawn from stock formats.

Installation and finishing

Managed installation with attention to tolerances, sequencing, and long-term performance.

This approach ensures that design intent and installation reality remain aligned throughout.
